I Lost to Lasha

She picked the bass like it was its turn
Without concern she rocked to the music
With almost no emotion, no thought to be had
So stoic and still quite unlike her dad
She wooed the crowd with her skill
And all the while got her fill of their amazement.

If ever a word came from her mouth
Well, I'd never heard one ever come out
Some say she talked before to them
But, yet not one peep ever welcomed me in

To this day I'm perplexed and
I still don't understand
How she could be so lightning quick with her hands
On her bass she could lay out a funky tune
But then turn right around and beat me at spoons

I assumed reticent people were slow
By my thought backfired in my face
I quickly had to accept second place
Lasha didn't change one bit in the end
She's quiet even when she wins!

I lost to Lasha.

Thanks for writing... I was starting to feel like a hermit for a little bit there. Sometimes when things don't go as planned you begin to question the plan. Alltel is supposed to call me today with the "Yes" or "No"! I'm praying they will officially end my job search.

hey guys, its Ames. I was just wondering if y'all wouldn't mind praying for me as well on my own job search here in Missoula...I am having a hard time with the whole employment thing, and would like your support and prayers to help me as I continue to look for a job. Thank you so much! I miss all of you....

Ames...

We've been thinking about you and it sure is good to hear from you. Thanks for birthday wish on the video Sarah T. and Tait sent. As far as your job search goes, I know all too well what that's like. I'm in the middle of it right now. I agree that the right position will find YOU. I pray that God would lead you and guide you every step of the way. It will be cool once we've both found that perfect position, looking back saying how faithful God is. Call Us would you! 308.238.0543

Walt-
Thanks so much for your message! It means a lot to me, and its kinda fun, in a not so fun way, to be in the same boat as you...kinda! Anyway, i've been praying for your search as well, and you are right, it will be awesome when we can look back and see how God has blessed us both. About the phone thing...I would love to call you but my phone has been unable to make outgoing phone calls for about two weeks or so and I dont know when it will be fixed (its an issue my Dad is having with good ol' verizon) But trust me, as soon as its fixed, ill be sure to give you three a ring and let you know about school, mizz, and all that. Love you all...and thanks again for your prayers! Tell the fam hi...

I don't think you guys quite understand how much it means to me that you write. I'm really bad at sending letters and calling. This is about the only way for us to consistently keep in touch.

First Tim, good to hear from you again. Your family is moving to GF? WoW! Grammy and Pa are going to just love that right? As for school remember what I taught you this summer. Memorize stuff and if you don't know something go research it and act like you know everything about it. That's what school is all about.

I'll call you soon. And as long as Shawn and Amber are at the healm, I'm sure any changes they'll make to XYC will be great.

You're the man soundkid!

Hey ames,
are you applying to be a server? I hope you get it!! We miss you. Sorry about that last day in MT. It was pretty confusing. We had a lot on our minds:) Classes started yet? Doing well here. We will find out FOR SURE this Friday about walt's job. This one seems to be perfect. It's a daily trusing in HIM, not in Him answering the way we thought/think it should go--comprende? Hebrews 11:1 all the way! Love ya, sarah g

I got a voicemail message today from Alltel. They chose someone else for the position... so the search continues. I'm encouraged though! That means there's something else out there for me. Thanks for your prayers guys!
