I'm a Junior!

Dad dropped by to see his granddaughter and us from August 21st-26th. Someday I'll have a job where I can dictate my schedule so I can spend time with anyone that visits. It was so good having my pop here though. He inspires me. I can honestly say that my dad is one of my very best friends.

This visit, more than any other, I found that I'm like him in a lot of ways. We both care very deeply about people. We enjoy making people feel at home and welcome. We both share an interest in astrophysics. We both have an affinity for auxillary percussion. We both like toys. We listen well, we teach. I want to be more positive like he is though. He's arguably one of the best story tellers on the planet too! When he talks about anything he's done, it's as if you are right there doing it with him!

His visit was perfect. The first day he was here, while I was still at work, I heard Maci told him, "you have hair like my daddy!" Dad was amazed by Maci too, he pointed out some things about her that I hadn't yet articulated. I wish he lived closer! New York is a long way away!

He'll be back though...you should meet him sometime!

Cracklin' Oat Bran

This morning I was finishing a bowl of my favorite cereal and Maci came up with her usual "Have some cereal?" So I gave her a bite and off she went, bounding around chewing up her mouthful of cold breakfast delight. She came back for another round and I said, "It's all gone!" In response Maci yelled back at me, "OKAY, IT'S MILKY TIME!"

I love when kids say wierd things :)
