I need some ideas on how to get my daughter to start wiping her own bum after she's done doing #2. I'm not opposed to helping out if necessary, but I would like to empower her to begin taking charge in this area for obvious reasons.
Maybe I should continue teaching until she "gets it". Or maybe I should search the web for bum wiping lessons. Then again, maybe that's not the greatest idea either, God knows what I'd find.
Parenting is so much FUN!

I think wiping it beats having her whine later about how her bottom is sore ;) funny walt! we can't be wiping it for the rest of our lives...she'll learn. lol!!
Walter, believe me it gets better. I can say this based on experience. I don't dare post the stories here (smile).

what about the age-old "i'll give you something if you do trick"? that always seemed to work for me...ya know, positive reinforcement?
wait, better idea, how bout I come there and do ALL the wiping and you can have the year off? if it meant i got to see her precious lil face again, i'd do it....
Me too!! You could put up an announcement that you are looking to hire a bum-wiper!! I have a feeling you would be overwhelmed with how many would apply just to get a chance to see you guys! How many people can say they are that special!?! lol
Well Walter, I think you need to teach her that when she has to smash one, that she needs to shoot for the clean one.
